From the Office of Vocations

Vocation Posters and Calendars
As we begin the 2022-2023 academic year, the new vocation poster will be released and sent to parishes and campus ministers in the next couple of weeks. We are also producing a daily calendar with intentions for the faithful to offer in order to regularly intercede for vocations throughout our diocese in an intentional way. Extra posters are available for mailing to various communities. Please contact the Office of Vocations if you would like a poster.

The image and theme for the 2022-2023 year
This year’s image is entitled, “Christ the Eternal High Priest” by Maximilian Schmalzl, C.Ss.R. The theme for the year in the Office of Vocations is: “And he that sat on the throne, said: Behold, I make all things new” (Revelation 21:5). It’s a subtle reference to the ongoing Eucharistic Revival promoted by the USCCB. By baptism, we are all incorporated into Christ’s high priesthood. We have been commissioned by Christ Himself to “go out to all nations” to proclaim the good news (cf. Matthew 28:16-20) and invite all men and women to see the Way the Truth and the Life, to choose Him and to be enlivened in Him in the Most Holy Eucharist.

Consecrated Life and Mission Work Vocation Poster
Does your parish have young men and women who are currently in formation for consecrated life, men discerning in other dioceses, or young men and women serving in the mission field (NET Ministries, FOCUS, Missioners of Christ, Christ in the City, etc)? The Office of Vocations is interested in producing a vocation poster to highlight men and women from our diocese who have chosen a vocation to another diocese or institute of consecrated life, as well as missionaries serving in various institutions. If you know of young people in these categories, we would love to support them and encourage the faithful around the diocese to pray for them
