On an annual basis the Office for Evangelization provides Life-Planning seminars to help anyone who would like to learn more about a number of issues that may come as one nears the end of life and considers long-term care. Some of the topics that are addressed include:
- caring for an aging parent or spouse
- considering assisted living, hospice, or in-home care
- planning for a Catholic funeral or work with funeral homes and cemeteries
- Advance Medical Directives and health care proxies
- the moral teaching of the Church surrounding the end-of-life
- ordinary versus extraordinary means of care
- estate planning
These seminars are a collaborative effort between the Office for Evangelization and many other Diocesan groups.
