September 18-19, 2024 at Saint Michael the Archangel, Richmond

All new coordinators of youth ministry (paid and volunteer) are invited to our New Youth Minister Orientation! If you are new to running your ministry in the last two years and have not yet attended orientation, you are highly encouraged to attend. Training topics will include, but are not limited to:

• Discerning the Best Youth Ministry Programming for Your Parish
• Creating a Youth Ministry Calendar
• Event Coordination: Advertising, Registering, & Attending
• A Brief Overview of Confirmation
• Navigating Tough Pastoral Situations
• Keeping Boundaries & Maintaining Your Own Prayer Life
• Safe Environment in Youth Ministry

Plus, you will be paired up with a veteran youth minister who will act as a mentor, and you will get face time with some of the other diocesan offices you interact with as a youth minister.  The two days build on top of each other:

• Wednesday runs from 10:30am-9:00pm and includes daily Mass, lunch, dinner, and a teambuilding activity.
• Thursday runs from 9:00am-4:00pm and includes daily Mass and lunch.

All new youth ministers are asked to plan to attend the entirety of orientation.  There is no cost to attend this orientation and overnight lodging is provided, as needed.  Please email Katie Yankoski at [email protected] with questions.
